Amazon will start automatically refunding up to $200 to Prime customers who unknowingly signed up for the service.

The move comes after a year of Amazon paying out over $845 million in refunds to eligible customers as part of a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) settlement.

The FTC alleged that Amazon used deceptive methods to enroll customers in Prime without their consent and made it difficult to cancel the service.

Amazon did not admit wrongdoing, but agreed to pay $1.5 billion to affected customers and change its practices.
