Amazon Builds Robotics Factory and Pours Billions into Indian Delivery
Amazon is making big bets on two key areas of growth: advanced automation in the US and ultra-fast delivery in India. The company will spend over $100 million to build a massive robotics manufacturing plant in Greenwood, Indiana, expected to open by 2028.
The facility will allow Amazon to produce more robots in-house, using AI-powered tools from AWS to support its fulfillment network. This investment deepens Amazon's commitment to the state of Indiana, where it has already created 27,000 jobs and contributed $35 billion to GDP.
Meanwhile, Amazon is pushing hard into India's quick commerce market with a planned $3 billion investment through 2030. The company aims to expand its Amazon Now service, adding small neighborhood warehouses and enhanced AI-driven inventory tools to meet surging demand.
