Amazon Driver Attacked by Scooter Gang in Bridgeport Robbery Attempt
Bridgeport police are investigating an attempted robbery that left an Amazon delivery driver seriously injured on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred shortly before noon when a group of two people on motor scooters boxed in the victim's vehicle on Park Terrace in Bridgeport's South End, according to authorities. The suspects were dressed in black clothing and wore black face masks and helmets.
When the driver confronted the suspects, one of them slashed him in the face with a weapon, causing significant facial wounds that did not appear life-threatening. The victim was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent's Medical Center for treatment.
The suspects fled east on Railroad Avenue on the scooters after the attack. Police believe the incident was likely an attempted robbery and are urging anyone with information to contact Detective Kevin Cronin at 203-581-5292.
