Amazon Expands Prime Delivery to Merchant Websites via Multichannel Fulfillment
Amazon.com has extended its Prime badge and fast, free delivery to independent websites of merchants using its Multichannel Fulfillment service. The move allows sellers to show the familiar Prime promise outside the Amazon storefront without extra fees beyond standard fulfillment charges.
The announcement follows the company's pattern of reusing assets it already built to enter adjacent markets. Growth oriented companies judge expansion on revenue base growth and new market entry, and Amazon.com has repeatedly entered new markets by leveraging its existing capabilities.
Merchants interested in the program can find eligibility details in the company's seller resources. The transition for sellers that already rely on the network may be simple, as inventory is already positioned in the right warehouses. Brands using other logistics providers would need to weigh switching effort against benefits of a recognized delivery promise and lower fulfillment charges.
