Amazon Expands Prime Video Shopping Experience Across Thousands of Titles
Amazon Prime Video has expanded its 'Shop the Show' feature, which allows users to purchase products related to what they're watching. Introduced last year, Shop the Show now works on over 8,000 titles, up from 1,300.
The new features include a 'Shop tab' within the X-Ray experience that lets users discover products inspired by their favorite shows and movies. This tab can be accessed by pressing the 'up' button on the remote or by opening the Amazon Shopping app, which will sync with what's playing on screen.
Another new feature is 'Shop the Scene', powered by Amazon Lens technology. This allows users to shop for products as they appear on screen in hundreds of titles. For example, a user watching a show might see a character wearing a sweater and be able to tap on it to purchase similar items.
The expansion of Shop the Show is seen as an effort to enhance the streaming experience and make it easier for customers to discover new products. According to Michelle Rothman, vice president of Prime Video shopping, 'We are always exploring new ways to enhance the streaming experience on Prime Video, and since launching Shop the Show, we have seen incredible enthusiasm from customers who love discovering products inspired by what they watch.'
