Amazon Fires Up New Streaming Stick with Speed Boost

Amazon has launched an all-new Fire TV Stick 4K and redesigned Fire TV Remote. The new Fire TV Stick 4K offers faster performance than its competitors, getting customers to content from nearly 20-40% faster than a similarly priced 4K streaming stick.

The new device features a slimmer form factor, Direct Power that lets customers power the device using a TV's USB port with the included cable, and Alexa+ and the new Fire TV experience out of the box. It supports HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, H.265, H.264, VP9, and AV1 video content formats and features 2160p, 1080p, and 720p output resolution up to 60 frames per second.

Amazon is also streamlining its stick lineup to three clear tiers: Fire TV Stick HD for everyday streaming, Fire TV Stick 4K as the new core product with crisp 4K resolution, and Fire TV Stick 4K Max for gamers and home theater fans. The new Fire TV Remote features more tactile controls, including a customizable star button that can be set up to go straight to your favorite app or toggle settings like closed captioning or Screen Magnifier.
