Amazon Fires Up Price Hikes for Fire TV Sticks Amid Memory Shortage

The era of affordable 4K streaming sticks appears to be over as Amazon quietly raised prices on all its Fire TV Sticks. The price increases range from $5 to $25, with the top-tier Fire TV Stick 4K Max seeing a $25 hike from $60 to $85. The Fire TV Stick 4K Plus now costs $70, up $20 from its original price of $50. Amazon's newer Fire TV Sticks, including the Fire TV Stick 4K Select and Fire TV Stick HD, were also hit with price hikes.

Amazon attributed the price increases to the ongoing global memory shortage, a trend seen across various tech companies this year. Apple, Roku, and others have raised prices in response to rising component costs. Amazon's statement notes that the company has absorbed these increases for as long as possible before adjusting its pricing.
