Amazon Halts Cargo Operations with 21 Air After Fatal Crash

Amazon has temporarily suspended its operations with cargo airline 21 Air following a fatal crash at Miami International Airport last weekend. The Boeing 767-300, operated by 21 Air for Amazon's Air cargo network, overran the runway and struck several vehicles on the ground, killing five people and injuring five others.

The accident occurred during landing when the pilots warned that the aircraft was traveling too fast just over a minute before touching down. The pilots also considered aborting the landing after the plane touched down, according to information from the flight data recorder.

Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel stated that the company had decided to pause its operations with 21 Air while supporting the ongoing investigation into the crash. This decision was made after reviewing the circumstances surrounding the accident and continuing to support the families of those affected.

21 Air has expressed confidence in its safety procedures and will continue working closely with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and its customers, including Amazon, as the investigation continues.
