Amazon Hikes Prices on Popular Devices Amid Rising Costs
Amazon has quietly increased prices on many of its popular devices, including Kindles, Echo smart speakers, Eero routers, and Fire TV sticks. The price hikes range from $10 to $100, with some devices seeing a $40 increase.
The company cited rising costs for memory and storage components as the reason for the price increases. However, some analysts speculate that Amazon may be using this opportunity to make its upcoming Prime Day and Black Friday sales look more attractive by making last year's prices seem like deals.
Some devices were spared from the price increase, including the Kindle Scribe line, which has maintained its original pricing despite the memory and storage costs rising. Meanwhile, other companies such as Apple and Kobo have also raised their prices this summer.
