Amazon Options Trade Sees Bullish Bet Amidst Pullback
A large bullish trade has emerged in the options market for Amazon (AMZN.US), despite its recent sharp pullback from record highs.
The trade, which involves a long-dated put structure expiring April 16, 2027, suggests that current prices are attractive and offer room to profit even if AMZN trades sideways or declines modestly.
The structure includes selling 5,000 $260 Puts @ $26.28 and buying 6,000 $220 Puts @ around $10.32, with a net credit of about $15.96 per share. This puts the expiration breakeven near $244.
AWS remains the key fundamental support for Amazon, with revenue rising 37% year over year to $42.2 billion last quarter, its fastest growth in 18 quarters. However, the main pressure comes from higher rates, which have weighed on tech valuations and pressured cash flow.
The latest trade puts the $244-$250 area in focus, with holding this range keeping the long-dated bullish structure in a favorable position.
