Amazon Partner 4XH Logistics to Lay Off 230 Workers in San Antonio

A Boerne-based freight service that partnered with Amazon is shutting down operations in the San Antonio area, leaving hundreds of workers without jobs. 4XH Logistics LLC, which operated out of an office in Boerne, will lay off 230 workers by November 19th.

The layoffs are part of the company's 'ramp down provisions,' according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification letter sent to the Texas Workforce Commission and Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones on September 10th. The company was hiring delivery drivers as recently as July, with one job posting offering a starting hourly wage of $19.30.

The closure comes amid widespread layoffs across the freight industry, which have seen at least 1,222 jobs eliminated due to factory consolidations and operational shifts. Amazon accounted for nearly 500 of these job losses, but the temporary closure of its Port St. Lucie facility in Florida is expected to be resolved once renovations are complete.
