Amazon Prime Day Deals Marred by Recent Price Hikes
Amazon's Prime Day sale is underway, and many devices are discounted. However, due to recent price hikes, some deals may not be as good as they seem.
The company increased prices across its device categories in late August, leaving customers with the same products but higher costs. As a result, discounts of $40 or more may only shave off 10-20% of the new prices.
Despite this, some devices remain worthwhile to purchase at discounted prices. The Echo Spot (2024) is 50% off its new price and still a solid discount off its original price of $80. It's also worth noting that some devices, like the Ember Artline TV, did not see price hikes and can be purchased for a significant discount.
For those interested in buying a Kindle, it's recommended to wait until the Prime Big Deal Days event on October 6-7. Most Kindles saw price increases in late August, but purchasing them at a discount off their new prices will still provide better value than paying full price for the same product.
Other devices, like the Echo Dot Max and Fire TV Stick 4K Max, also offer decent discounts, despite recent price hikes. However, it's essential to consider the original prices when evaluating these deals.
