Amazon Raises Minimum Warehouse Wage to $20 an Hour
Amazon has announced a significant pay increase for its warehouse workers in the US. The minimum starting wage will rise to $20 an hour, a $1 per hour boost that represents a more than $1.5 billion investment by the company.
This marks a 17% increase over the past three years, which began with Amazon's initial decision to set its minimum wage at $15 an hour in 2018.
The pay bump will take effect on September 27th, and average pay for warehouse workers is expected to reach nearly $24 an hour.
