Amazon Raises U.S. Workers' Pay to $20 an Hour Amid AI-Driven Efficiency Push
Amazon has made a significant move to boost its U.S. workers' pay and benefits. The company announced it will raise the minimum starting wage for full-time roles to $20 per hour, which translates to around $41,600 annually before taxes.
This increase affects over 1 billion dollars in higher pay for U.S. operations employees. Amazon's new wage structure is designed to improve retention and reduce recruitment costs while supporting reliable deliveries.
The company also introduced benefits aimed at everyday expenses, including uncapped discounts of 10% on eligible online groceries and essentials and 20% inside Whole Foods stores.
