Amazon Stock Climbs as Prime Air Expands Drone Deliveries Across Darlington
Amazon's stock price rose 1.48% to $255.62 as Prime Air advanced toward wider drone delivery approval across Darlington in the UK.
The company has completed over 500 flights and deliveries from its County Durham site, using MK30 drones that can handle packages weighing under five pounds and operate in light rain, snow, and wind gusts up to 28mph.
Prime Air currently reaches customers within a 7.5-mile radius of the Darlington facility, but Amazon seeks Civil Aviation Authority approval to extend coverage across the entire town as part of its broader UK drone delivery plans.
The expansion would represent another step toward Amazon's goal of making Prime Air available nationwide in the UK.
