Amazon Sued Over Off Campus Show Over Drunk Shakespeare Trademark Infringement
Amazon is facing a lawsuit over its Prime Video show Off Campus after Brass Jar Inc., the company behind Drunk Shakespeare, accused Amazon of using its trademarks without permission.
The dispute centers around Episode 4 of the YA hockey romance series, which features a fictional college production called Drunk Shakespeare. Brass Jar claims that this use goes beyond incidental use of its trademark and could confuse viewers into believing the theatrical production endorsed or licensed the series.
Brass Jar filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on September 17, claiming Amazon used its registered 'Drunk Shakespeare' and 'Drunk' trademarks without authorization.
