Amazon's Alexa+ Upgrade Fuels Stock Surge
Amazon's (AMZN) stock price rose by almost 2% on Wednesday after the company announced an update that enhances Alexa's capabilities for Fire TV devices.
The new features allow users to search for shows and films more efficiently, using a combination of their subscriptions, watch history, content access, and real-world events.
Alexa+ can now answer complex queries, such as asking for films in a specific order or shows tied to awards. Users can also ask follow-up questions and review past picks through threaded chats.
Additionally, the Fire TV mobile app will gain new features that enable users to save and find content more easily, including sharing articles about shows or films and turning them into watchlists, as well as taking photos of posters or scenes and getting recommendations based on the image.
