Amazon's AWS Suffers Permanent Data Loss Due to US-Iran Conflict

The US-Iran conflict has caused permanent data loss for Amazon's cloud services unit, Amazon Web Services (AWS), at several of its Middle Eastern server facilities.

The damage was sustained during the initial attacks in March and additional strikes in April that targeted AWS data centers in Bahrain, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps explicitly stating that the attacks were a direct response to Amazon's logistical and technological support for US military forces.

AWS engineers are still attempting to salvage resources in two other affected UAE availability zones, but it has been confirmed that customer data stored solely in its Bahrain facilities and parts of its United Arab Emirates network cannot be restored.

Amazon stressed its ongoing commitment to its Middle Eastern customer base and promised a comprehensive update on the Bahrain facilities early next year.
