Amazon's Drone Delivery Facility Sparks Noise Complaints in North Texas

Amazon's drone delivery facility in Richardson, Texas has been operational since December 2025, but not everyone is thrilled about it. Neighbors of the facility have complained that the drones create a constant hum, likening it to a beehive.

The Amazon Prime Air facility can carry packages up to five pounds and deliver them within 30 minutes, according to Amazon. However, some residents claim the drones fly nonstop, causing disturbances in their daily lives.

Amazon has responded by stating that the sounds from the drones are minimal and short-lived. The company is planning to expand its airborne shipping to suburban areas in nearly 500 U.S. cities, with four Prime Air facilities already operational in Texas.
