American Airlines Unveils Retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER with Enhanced Premium Seating

American Airlines has entered a new era of comfort with its first retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The plane boasts an impressive array of premium seats, including 70 Flagship Suite seats and 44 Premium Economy seats. This is the most premium seats on any US commercial aircraft, according to American.

The Flagship Suite cabin features a one-two-one configuration with updated elements from Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft introduced last year. Eight of the 70 seats are Flagship Suite Preferred, offering up to 19% more bed space and 42% more area compared to regular suites.

The retrofitted plane also features Bang & Olufsen noise-canceling headphones, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging pads, and universal USB-C and AC power outlets. The Flagship Suite dining meal includes a choice of four main dishes and three desserts.

Initially, the first retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER will operate on flights between New York-JFK and Buenos Aires, followed by a stint on the New York JFK-London Heathrow route for the rest of the month. American aims to complete the retrofitting of its entire 20-aircraft fleet by the end of 2027.
