American Express Stock Hits Near-Record Highs on Strong Earnings
American Express's stock price is holding near record levels, driven by the company's strong earnings in 2025. The credit card giant reported a revenue of $65.9 billion and net income of $10.1 billion for the year, with diluted earnings per share reaching $14.01.
The growth in revenue and profit was fueled by an increase in billed business, which rose to $1.6 trillion from $1.4 trillion in 2024, and a rise in total cards-in-force, up to 140.5 million from 130.1 million. This expansion of the spending base is key to American Express's business model.
The company's profitability was also maintained at high levels, with net income above $10 billion for the year. The Platinum Card remains a flagship product for the company, and its pricing power contributes to the overall revenue growth.
