AmEx Brings Centurion Lounge Experience to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
American Express has opened its first Centurion Lounge in continental Europe at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) on September 17.
The new lounge spans 6,000 square feet and features a design inspired by Dutch landscapes. The color palette of blues and greens is meant to evoke the nation's famous canals, while the proportions and repetition of design features reflect canal houses.
Audrey Hendley, president of American Express Travel, said that Schiphol was a natural choice for the lounge due to its importance as a travel hub for AmEx card members. The lounge will offer food and beverage options celebrating local traditions, including Blue Roast Coffee Bar highlighting Amsterdam's coffee culture.
The Centurion Lounge at AMS features floor-to-ceiling windows, a bar serving local and international beers and cocktails, and areas to work, dine, and relax. To access the lounge, travelers must hold The Platinum Card, The Centurion Card, or the Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card.
