Amex Ends Lufthansa Lounge Access for Platinum Cardholders on October 1

Amex Platinum cardholders are set to lose access to Lufthansa lounges after September 30, as part of a change in their Global Lounge Collection benefit. The airline's partnership with American Express will disappear entirely from October 1, 2026.

The loss is particularly noticeable at Lufthansa's major hubs in Frankfurt and Munich, where the airline operates extensive networks of Business and Senator lounges. At airports outside Germany, including London Heathrow and New York JFK, Amex lists participating Lufthansa facilities that will no longer be accessible to Platinum cardholders.

Despite this change, American Express still offers over 1,550 airport lounges across more than 500 airports worldwide through various networks and partners. However, for travelers flying with Lufthansa Group carriers or passing through Germany, the loss of lounge access will be noticeable.
