American Express has rolled out an AI-powered platform to simplify expense management for mid-sized businesses. The Amex Corporate offering combines Corporate Cashback cards with a revamped mobile app that automates receipt matching, categorization, and real-time spend tracking.

The new platform reduces administrative burdens on finance teams by automatically matching receipts to transactions and providing proactive spending recommendations. It also includes AI agents that proactively reach out through SMS and Slack to remind employees of outstanding expenses or reconcile discrepancies.

The technology behind the platform comes from Hyper, an AI-driven expense management startup acquired by American Express in April. The acquisition was expected to close in the second quarter of 2026. By integrating AI into its card ecosystem, Amex aims to keep mid-market customers from defecting to newer platforms like Brex and Ramp.
