Amgen Irish Open Revival Boosts Path to St Andrews

The Amgen Irish Open golf tournament will return to The K Club in 2027, giving one player a chance to qualify for The Open at St Andrews. This marks the first time the Irish Open has been part of The Open Qualifying Series since 2022.

The 2027 Amgen Irish Open will take place from July 1-4, with The Open following less than two weeks later at St Andrews from July 15-18. The tournament's earlier date is due to the Ryder Cup being staged at Adare Manor next September.

Shane Lowry will head to The K Club as defending champion after his stunning victory at Doonbeg earlier this month, which also earned him a top spot in qualification for next year's home Ryder Cup.
