Amgen Sees Unusually Large Options Trading After Beating Earnings Estimates
Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN) has been the target of unusually large options trading activity on Thursday, with stock traders buying 79,035 call options, a 931% increase from the typical daily volume of 7,664 call options.
This unusual trading activity in AMGN comes as the company's quarterly earnings results were released earlier this week. Amgen reported $6.29 earnings per share for the quarter, beating analysts' consensus estimates of $5.62 by $0.67.
The company's revenue also exceeded expectations, increasing 9.5% year over year to $10.05 billion. Analysts expect full-year 2026 EPS of approximately $22.78, within Amgen's guidance range.
Separately, two senior vice presidents at the company, Rachna Khosla and Nancy A. Grygiel, have sold shares in recent weeks. Rachna Khosla sold 1,252 shares on August 13th at an average price of $416.43, while Nancy A. Grygiel sold 2,970 shares on August 6th at an average price of $402.16.
