Amulya Vishwanath, founder and managing partner of Techable Ventures, shared her insights on the future of physical AI during an interview with TechCrunch’s Equity. Having spent nearly seven years at Nvidia and held roles at companies later acquired by Intel and Molex, Vishwanath described the current state of robotics as being in its “LEGO era.”
She explained that the industry is currently focused on building foundational software and hardware components, such as robotic hands and actuators, which will eventually come together to create more advanced systems. “There are a lot of foundational software and building blocks for robotics that are being rethought right now,” she said, emphasizing the importance of these basics for future innovation.
Vishwanath drew parallels to past technological revolutions, noting that the current phase is similar to the early days of the internet and the Industrial Revolution. She highlighted the critical role of talent in driving this progress, particularly in the U.S. market, where her firm helps founders connect with top talent to stay competitive.
Her extensive network, built over years in the industry, positions her as a key resource for founders navigating the talent landscape. “This just makes it a lot more easier for me to be the strength or the first call for founders,” she said, underscoring the advantage of her experience in the space.
