Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 Rolls Out for Pixel Devices, Fixing Dozens of Issues
Google has rolled out Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 for Pixel devices. This release comes on the heels of Android 17 QPR2, which was released earlier this week. The stable version is expected to be available in March 2027.
The beta update addresses various issues reported by users. These include problems with audio output devices, app crashes, and device freezes. For example, Google has fixed an issue where apps would crash when trying to start a foreground service from a Quick Settings tile.
Users can report any remaining issues via the Android Beta Feedback app or participate in the Android Beta community on Reddit. To join the beta program, users must opt-in through the Android Beta Program. If they prefer to leave the program and receive the public stable release of Android 17 QPR2, they can do so without wiping their device.
The update is available for various Pixel devices, including the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 9 Pro. The system images are also available for the Android Emulator.
