Android Auto Upgrades Gaming Experience with Full-Screen Mode

Google is refining its built-in gaming experience for Android Auto users. The latest beta build includes a full-screen mode for GameSnacks titles, which previously only ran in windowed mode. This change will likely be beneficial for gamers who want to immerse themselves in their favorite arcade-style games.

The two different gaming experiences on Android Auto are powered by the mobile phone and include full Android games and the GameSnacks collection of arcade games. The latter has been around for several years and doesn't require any additional action from users or game developers. However, with the updated build, these titles will now run in full-screen mode.

Users can navigate away from the games by swiping down on the screen. In one configuration, a back button remains visible at all times, but it's likely that this feature will be removed soon to make way for the swipe-down gesture. It's unclear when Google plans to roll out these changes to production devices.
