Android Auto's Missing Signal Bar Fix Finally Rolls Out
Google has finally addressed the long-standing issue of missing cellular signal bars in Android Auto. The problem, which started in early 2026 after an update installed by users through the Google Play Store, was a cosmetic glitch that didn't affect functionality but still caused confusion among users.
The bug resulted in empty space where the cellular signal bars should have been, leading some to believe their phones were no longer connected to the cellular network. However, the connection remained intact, and users could still make calls and send texts.
Google's Mishaal Rahman confirmed the patch, stating that it was currently rolling out in stages. Those who want to receive the update sooner can enroll in the Android Auto beta program.
The fix was initially included in the Android Auto 17.9 beta rollout but has now made its way to the production channel through the Google Play Store. This means users outside of the beta program should start seeing the update and the patch shortly.
