Android's Advanced Protection to Get Optional Security Features

Google may soon revise its Advanced Protection feature for Android devices to allow users more flexibility.

Currently, this security feature disables several protections once enabled, except for Intrusion Logging. However, code strings in Google Play Services version 26.36.30 suggest that USB Protection and other features will be moved into an optional 'Expert Features' section.

This change would give users more control over their device's security settings while retaining the strongest protections for those who want them.

Advanced Protection, introduced with Android 16, is designed to protect against harmful apps, online attacks, and unauthorized access. However, its all-or-nothing approach has raised concerns among some users.
