Anthropic IPO Could Send Amazon and Alphabet Stocks Soaring
Anthropic, the creator of the popular chatbot Claude, has reached an impressive annualized revenue run rate of $65 billion. This figure is seven times what it was at the end of last year.
As a result of its rapid growth, Anthropic plans to go public through an initial public offering (IPO) that could value the company at over $2 trillion. However, retail investors can't directly buy shares in the AI firm yet.
A more indirect way to get exposure to Anthropic is by investing in companies that have already invested heavily in its pre-IPO shares. Amazon and Alphabet are among those holding significant stakes in the company.
Amazon's $33 billion investment gives it a 21% stake, while Alphabet has a 15% stake due to their large language model business competition with Anthropic. Salesforce also holds a $5 billion stake, and Zoom Communications has a smaller $1.3 billion stake.
