AP Minister Courts Gujarat Firms for Clean Energy, Pharma Investments

Andhra Pradesh's education and IT minister N. Lokesh has invited investments from industrial groups in Gujarat in various sectors, including clean energy, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, data centres, solar modules, and infrastructure.

Lokesh met with several business leaders during a series of meetings in Ahmedabad on Friday. He sought the expansion of Torrent Group's API and advanced-intermediate manufacturing capabilities in Andhra Pradesh's pharma clusters.

Torrent Group chairman Samir Mehta said his company is expanding its manufacturing capacity for high-potency products and developing 3.96GW of renewable energy, as well as 3GW of pumped-hydro storage capacity. The group is targeting 10GW of renewable capacity by 2030.

Lokesh also invited Welspun World India Group to set up a global capability centre in Visakhapatnam and an industrial park in Kakinada that would comprise textiles, logistics, DI pipe manufacturing, pipe coating, and green ammonia units.
