Apple, Amazon Face Class Action Over Alleged Price Fixing Deal

A class action lawsuit against Apple and Amazon in the UK has been allowed to proceed, affecting an estimated 28.9 million consumers who bought Apple or Beats products between October 31, 2018, and December 15, 2025.

The case centers around a 2018 agreement that allegedly excluded most Apple resellers from Amazon's UK marketplace, restricting rivals' ability to advertise and resulting in higher prices.

Data showed Amazon Retail's share of Apple product sales on the platform rose from 25% before the agreement to 99% afterwards.

The claimant estimated losses from 2019 through November 2028 at £289 million, including 8% interest, or £306 million assuming 10% interest. This equates to about £37-£39 per customer.
