Apple and Google's Stablecoin Hiring Spree Sparks Speculation About Future Plans
Job postings from Apple and Google have set off speculation about their plans for stablecoins. The Financial Product Strategy Lead role inside Apple Pay's group lists stablecoins as a preferred skill, while Google is hiring a Chief Architect to build stablecoin infrastructure for banks and exchanges across Asia.
The job postings don't mention a product name or launch date, but list specific requirements that seem tailored to a particular project. Stablecoins now make up a market worth $302.8 billion, with Tether alone moving roughly $140 billion a day.
Experts say the companies are treating stablecoin literacy as a baseline hiring requirement for teams that touch money, similar to how cloud experience became essential a decade ago. Apple and Google won't comment on the postings, but their actions suggest they're preparing for something big in the stablecoin space.
