Apple has initiated a price drop for its iPhone 17 series as it prepares to launch the next flagship, the iPhone 18 Pro. This move is likely aimed at clearing out existing stock and generating sales before new devices hit the market.

The discounts are significant, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max now priced at $1,407 (down from $1,535), the standard iPhone 17 Pro at $1,279 (from $1,407), and the base iPhone 17 at $959 (down from $1,023).

The biggest price cut is seen on the iPhone 17 Air, which has dropped by $256 to $1,023. The trend of discounting unlocked iPhones started in early summer in countries like Spain, Germany, and Australia.

Apple is also increasing trade-in values for older models ahead of the new launch, with the iPhone 16 Pro Max now worth up to $720 (up from $695) and the iPhone 16 Pro seeing a significant jump to $630 (from $560).
