Apple Lays Off 200 Employees Amid AI-Focused Reshuffle
Apple is undergoing significant changes in its workforce as it refocuses on AI and new devices. According to Bloomberg, over 200 employees will be laid off across teams tied to Siri and the Vision Pro headset. The iPhone maker is reducing headcount in its Intelligent Systems Experience team, which helps build AI features across its devices.
About 100 roles were cut from the Vision Pro department, while another 100 jobs were eliminated from Siri and software teams. However, affected employees will be able to apply for other positions within the company.
The job cuts are part of a wider reshuffle across Apple's main hardware and software groups aimed at improving efficiency and better matching customer usage patterns.
Apple is shifting its focus toward AI-enabled smart glasses, expected around 2027. These devices will use cameras, Siri, and visual intelligence tools instead of a full AR display.
