Apple Stock Skyrockets Under Tim Cook's Leadership
Tim Cook took over as CEO of Apple in August 2011 after Steve Jobs resigned. At that time, Apple's stock price dropped 5% and an investment of $10,000 would have bought approximately 27.4 shares.
These shares would have increased to 766.9 due to subsequent stock splits in 2014 and 2020, with a total value of about $241,500 at the time of writing.
Cook expanded Apple's services business from $3 billion to $120 billion and introduced new products like Apple Watch and AirPods, which are now a $36 billion segment. He also ensured global availability of iPhones.
Ternus will take over as CEO on September 1st and is expected to focus on building out Apple's AI capabilities with custom chips from Broadcom through 2031.
