Apple to unveil three new Home devices at October 13 event
Apple is gearing up for a major product launch event on October 13, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The tech giant is expected to unveil three new devices, all centered around Siri AI: a smart home hub with a screen, a new HomePod mini, and an updated Apple TV.
The announcement comes just weeks after Apple's last event, which introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo. Gurman's report in his Power On newsletter confirms earlier speculation about the October 13 release date, but now suggests it will take the form of a dedicated event rather than a simple press release.
Industry observers, including John Gruber, had previously argued that the significance of these new Home products would likely warrant a full event. Gruber noted that a keynote video and media event with hands-on demos would be necessary to properly showcase the new devices.
If the event does proceed as planned, press invites could be sent out in the coming days. However, there remains a slight possibility that new CEO John Ternus might deviate from traditional product introduction methods.
