Apple Unveils First Foldable iPhone: How It Will Impact Tech ETFs

Apple has announced its first foldable iPhone, skipping the base iPhone 18 in favor of three premium devices. The new smartphone is expected to feature a 7.8-inch internal display and a 5.3-inch external screen, powered by an A20 Pro chip.

The foldable iPhone's price tag is estimated between $1,999 and $2,399, with limited initial supply. Analysts believe the premium halo product will not dent Apple's overall economics, despite its high price point.

Historically, Apple's stock tends to react negatively on launch day, but then recover in the following weeks. The company has averaged a 0.5% gain in the 60 days after an iPhone reveal since 2007.

The new foldable iPhone will have a significant impact on several ETFs, particularly those with high Apple exposure. Funds like Global X PureCap MSCI Information Technology (GXPT) and Fidelity MSCI Information Technology Index (FTEC) hold around 19.2% and 16.3% of Apple stock respectively.
