Apple Unveils Foldable Smartphone, Premium Lineup With Advanced Camera Hardware
Apple's latest smartphone lineup has been unveiled, featuring the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max as the main attractions. The new devices boast advanced camera hardware, including a 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera with physical variable aperture for direct mechanical control over light entry and depth of field.
The flagship models also run on Apple's new A20 Pro processor and feature a redesigned next-generation vapor chamber cooling system, allowing for up to 40% higher sustained performance. iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence and Siri AI features is also included.
However, it's worth noting that the standard iPhone 18 has been delayed until spring 2027, as Apple focuses on its premium offerings this fall. The company did introduce the foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, which starts at $2,000 and features a custom mechanical hinge design to reduce screen creases.
Additionally, Apple launched the AirPods 5 starting at $129 and refreshed its Apple Watch lineup with the Series 12 & Ultra 4. The new iPhone models will be available for preorder on September 12, ahead of their retail release on September 18.
