Apple Unveils New High-Powered Desktops as Wall Street Eyes iPhone Demand and Foldable Release
Apple has refreshed its Mac lineup with new high-powered desktops, including a new Mac mini and a Mac Studio. The M6 Mac mini delivers up to four times faster AI performance, twice the graphics performance, and 40% faster CPU performance compared to the previous model.
The Mac Studio targets professional workloads, with the M5 Ultra configuration supporting up to 512GB of unified memory. Both desktops emphasize on-device AI through Apple Intelligence and Siri AI in macOS 27.
Wall Street is watching iPhone demand closely, with Morgan Stanley analyst Erik Woodring saying that early demand for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max 'seems fine' despite a higher production rate. However, he believes some Chinese consumers may be waiting for Apple's Duo foldable, which is expected to be released in mid-October.
Woodring remains optimistic about the product, expecting Apple to sell nearly every foldable it produces over the next 12 months. He also warns that a deeper slowdown in Services growth could pressure Apple's valuation.
