Archer Aviation Scoops Up Three Boeing Subsidiaries Amid Share Surge
Archer Aviation has agreed to purchase three subsidiaries from Boeing, sending its shares soaring. The deal includes Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu, with no financial details disclosed. As part of the agreement, Boeing will take a stake in Archer and retain access to Wisk's core autonomous flight technology for current and next-generation aircraft.
Archer founder Adam Goldstein called this 'a watershed moment' for his company and the future of physical AI in aerospace and defense. This deal combines complementary capabilities in autonomy, electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), creating a groundbreaking end-to-end platform.
The transaction allows Boeing to focus on its core businesses while retaining strategic upside through its stake in Archer. At 1335 BST, Archer shares were up 24.7% at $6.97 in pre-market trade.
