Ark Invest Boosts Nvidia and Intellia While Trimming AMD
Cathie Wood's Ark Invest made significant moves in semiconductors, biotechnology, and technology during the week ending October 2. The firm boosted its exposure to Nvidia (NVDA) and Intellia Therapeutics (NTLA), acquiring 356,681 shares of Nvidia worth $81 million and 1.59 million shares of Intellia worth $29.7 million. In the semiconductor sector, Ark added 172,005 shares of BWX Technologies (BWXT) worth $20.8 million and 76,263 shares of Broadcom (AVGO) worth $13.1 million. The firm also increased its stake in CoreWeave (CRWV) by 254,550 shares, valued at $7.3 million.
In biotechnology and genomics, Ark Invest purchased 355,184 shares of Veracyte (VCYT) worth $11.4 million. Smaller additions were made in other biotechnology-related holdings, while the firm reduced its exposure to 10x Genomics (TXG) by $9.7 million and Tempus AI (TEM) by $6.2 million. In the EV and tech space, Ark bought 48,352 shares of Tesla (TSLA) for $12.5 million, along with $6.8 million of Airbnb (ABNB), $4.2 million of Amazon.com (AMZN), and $3.7 million of Cerebras Systems (CBRS).
On the selling side, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) saw the largest reduction, with Ark selling 181,767 shares worth $111.1 million. The firm also reduced its stake in Zillow Group (Z) by $4.2 million. All traded values were calculated using reported shares and the average trading price for the respective day.
