IBM has partnered with Arm to bring their compute platform into mission-critical enterprise computing. This move is part of IBM's strategic collaboration with Arm, which was established earlier this year.

The partnership aims to connect modern cloud and AI infrastructure with enterprise-grade security and resilience. The first tangible milestone from the collaboration is a dual-architecture processor, announced at Hot Chips this week.

This processor will allow Arm-native Linux environments to run alongside z/OS and existing Linux applications on future IBM Z and LinuxONE systems. This gives enterprises access to modern software without requiring them to move critical workloads elsewhere.
