Artemis II Unleashes New Space Race as Legacy Players Lag Behind

NASA's Artemis II mission is sparking a new wave of innovation in space exploration, according to Yuri Khodjamirian, manager of the Tema Space Innovators ETF. The mission has shifted the focus towards newer players like Rocket Lab and Intuitive Machines, which are poised to develop faster than legacy names such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin.

Khodjamirian notes that legacy players are less agile due to their reliance on government contracts and diversified business models. In contrast, companies like Rocket Lab are gaining attention for building reusable and reliable launch services as an alternative to SpaceX.

AST SpaceMobile is also making waves with its direct-to-device satellite connectivity, targeting global telecom integration and mass adoption. Khodjamirian sees the next wave of space growth coming from names like Rocket Lab, Intuitive Machines, Planet Labs, and AST SpaceMobile, rather than legacy aerospace and defense giants.
