Ava Dobson Blazes Trail in F1 Academy with Whirlwind Debut
Ava Dobson is making waves in the F1 Academy with her whirlwind debut in 2025 and subsequent full-time seat for 2026.
Born in Wisconsin, Ava grew up watching NASCAR with her father before discovering a passion for karting at just seven years old. She progressed through junior ranks in the US, competing locally before taking her aspirations across the country.
At 14, Ava received an offer to test for the F4 US Championship and completed a series of tests, eventually racing in USF Juniors and USF2000 after turning 15. A bad crash took her out of competition, but she rebounded with two rounds of GB4, earning her first podium and winning the female championship.
Ava's F1 Academy debut came at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix weekend as a wild card entry for Morgan Stanley supported by Hitech TGR. She was offered a full-time seat in 2026 shortly after, saying 'I do deserve to be here' and expressing gratitude towards American Express for their support.
