Berkshire Authors Unite for Inaugural Northern Berkshire Book Festival

The Northern Berkshire Author and Book Festival will be held at the North Adams Public Library on September 9. The event features over 50 authors from Berkshire County and beyond, showcasing a wide range of genres including memoir, fiction, graphic novels, cookbooks, philosophy, and more.

Organizers Emily Riehl-Bedford and Ryan Miller, both library directors, said the festival is an opportunity for local authors to connect with each other and the community. 'As a region, we feel like people are ready for this,' Riehl-Bedford said.

The festival will be held on three floors of the North Adams Public Library, where attendees can explore different genres and meet local authors. Some notable authors attending include Eden Robins, whose novel 'Remember You Will Die' was shortlisted for the 2025 Ursula K. Le Guin Prize, and John Seven, who recently published 'North Adams Panopticon', a book exploring the history and urban legends surrounding Coca-Cola Ledge in North Adams.

The festival will also feature a panel discussion with select authors, moderated by local author Eva Schegulla, who writes under the name Devon Ellington. The event is free to attend, but attendees can purchase books from local authors at the festival.
