Berkshire Hathaway Bolsters Alphabet Stake
Berkshire Hathaway has significantly increased its stake in Alphabet, the parent company of Google and YouTube. In the second quarter, Berkshire boosted its investment by 83%.
The conglomerate now owns nearly 106 million shares of Alphabet worth approximately US$37.8 billion as of June 30. This increase brings Alphabet to its third-largest stock holding in Berkshire's portfolio.
The disclosure was made in a regulatory filing describing Berkshire's U.S.-listed stock holdings as of June 30, which comprised most of its US$323.8-billion equity portfolio.
