Berkshire Hathaway Boosts Tech Holdings, Invests in Homebuilder
Berkshire Hathaway's Q2 portfolio saw significant changes under new CEO Greg Abel. The company increased its stake in Alphabet, now holding a 6.32% allocation after a substantial 83% increase in the quarter. This move suggests Abel is bullish on tech investments.
The portfolio also saw an investment in homebuilder D.R. Horton and a reduced stake in Constellation Brands. Berkshire trimmed positions in Bank of America, Ally Financial, and Capital One Financial, but kept its major holdings in Apple, American Express, and Coca-Cola intact.
The company's increased stake in Delta Air Lines may indicate Abel anticipates an end to the Iran conflict, which could lower oil prices and benefit airlines. Berkshire Hathaway's net portfolio value rose from $263 billion to around $299 billion during Q2.
